Born in a Family Kitchen

In the heart of Odisha, where the aroma of mustard oil mingles with the earthy warmth of panch phoron, our founder's grandmother—lovingly called "Maa" by every family in the para—began her ritual of hand-blending spices long before sunrise each morning. She ground her masalas on a traditional sil-batta, working each spice slowly so that not a drop of its natural oil was lost. Her recipes were passed down not in writing but in practice—mother to daughter, hand to hand. Neighbors and relatives would arrive at her doorstep with steel dabbas, asking for a portion of her Garam Masala to finish their bhog preparations or Sunday mutton. Maa Masala was born from that same Odia spirit of sharing—of cooking with care and offering it as love.
